Bissau or Bissao is a city in West Africa, capital of Guinea-Bissau. According to the 2009 census of the Instituto Nacional de Estatística e Censos, the city has 365,097 inhabitants. The most spoken language is Creole. The inhabitants are called Bissaliens.
